Community Calendar

Lean into your creative side and practice drawing wildlife step-by-step while learning about native species. This weekly series is geared for ages 6 through adult. Paper, pencils, and crayons provided. Bringing your own drawing supplies is encouraged! No session on June 19th or July 3rd.

You are invited to experience the collective wisdom and personal experience of artists' interpretation of the theme Echoes of a Changing Planet. Participating artists:
Norm Knott, Marsha Goodheart, Holly Blair-Cascio, Susan Berry, Julie Kennelly, Maya Simmons, Caitlyn Jahn, Paula Flanagan-Marsh, Barbara Berney, Lori Gustafson, Sadie Hoessrich, Becca Houlihan, Jose Sente, Greg LaMont, Clara Krick, Jessie Crow-Mermel, Wren Medina, Cassie Blair, Ventie Houi, Drew Helge, Annette McLean and Cherie Heck.

Yazmin is an accomplished musician and multi-faceted artist originally from Northern
Wisconsin. Performing since age 8, she developed a passion for Cuban-influenced
music in her teens, leading her to pursue dedicated study and immersion starting in
2016. Blending Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin traditions with influences like Joni
Mitchell and Stevie Wonder, she creates a unique, genre-bending sound. Yazmin
performs with her trio Beat Zero, featuring Grammy-nominated Álvaro Benavides and
Andrew Gillespie. Together, they fuse Latin jazz, funk, and folk/rock with Yazmin’s
heartfelt, bilingual songwriting. Their next studio album is set for release this summer.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and are available online at
uuchurchofstockton.org or at the door. Seating is limited. The show will be held at the
historic UU Church at 219 N Pearl Street. The venue is handicap accessible. Light

Learning how to be a resource for youth struggling with mental health challenges through our free QPR Training.

Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR): A suicide prevention gatekeeper training that teaches adults how to recognize warning signs, offer hope, and refer youth to life-saving professional care

Workshops are scheduled once enough attendees have submitted for them. The workshops are 8 hours long split in a single session or 2-day sessions of 4 hours each.

Join us on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Pohlman Field, where the outfield transforms into the ultimate playing ground for this classic backyard game.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or trying kubb for the first time, this tournament welcomes all skill levels. Teams will compete for cash prizes, bragging rights, and custom awards. Registration is now open, so grab your teammate and get signed up early!

✨ New this year: Two divisions to match your skill level
- Competitive Division: 7 qualifying rounds, all teams advance
- Recreational Division: 5 qualifying rounds, top 4 advance
Champions from both divisions will take home custom awards designed by students at Hendricks CareerTek. In addition, cash prizes will be awarded to numerous top finishers in the competitive bracket.

Spectators are encouraged to come cheer on the teams and enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from the Beloit Youth Hockey Association, supporting local youth programs.

Learn about the recent publications of area authors from the writers themselves. The library’s main lobby will be filled with local authors showcasing their works and answering questions throughout the day. Copies of the books will be available to purchase.
